A North Spirit Lake man is in custody following a stabbing and extended standoff that began Tuesday.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police were dispatched to a home in the remote community Tuesday following a report a man had been injured.
Officers located a victim, who was flown to hospital in Winnipeg with four stab wounds.
That was followed by extended negotiations with a second man, who had barricaded himself inside the home.
Early Wednesday morning negotiators successfully convinced the man to surrender.
A 42-year-old North Spirit Lake man has been charged with aggravated assault and other charges.
North Spirit Lake is located about 550 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
