THUNDER BAY -- Tourism Thunder Bay is teaming up with nine restaurants in the downtown North Core.
For the next two weeks, they will be dishing out unique meals to entice residents and tourists alike.
It's part of the Northern Delights Harvest Celebration, which is the second event of this nature to be held this year.
The first one took place earlier in February, and Tourism Manager Paul Pepe said it was met with great success.
He added that Thunder Bay is becoming a destination for food lovers, and if every visitor spends $25 on a meal, it will add $14,000,000 to our economy.
“Culinary tourism is a priority for us to grow,” Pepe said. “It doesn’t just support the restaurants, it supports the producers, the farmers, and the whole food chain behind it.”
Pepe added that from a tourism perspective every visitor eats while they are traveling, so it’s important to get people out of their hotel rooms and out exploring local restaurants.
Over 22 unique items are available, several of which are made from locally grown or produced goods.
