Northwest Health Unit confirms two more COVID-19 cases

One case in Kenora Region and one case in Sioux Lookout Region confirmed on Thursday.

THUNDER BAY – There are two new COVID-19 cases in the Northwestern Health Unit’s coverage area.

The health unit on Thursday said a new case was confirmed in the Kenora Region and another in the Sioux Lookout Region.

In a release, the health unit added single cases reported last week in Kenora and Sioux Lookout have since been removed from the case count as they are no longer classified as COVID-19 cases.

There have been 266 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases and six suspected cases announced since the pandemic began. Of those, 256 are considered to be resolved and there’s been one death, resulting in 15 active cases in the region, the same as Wednesday.
