KENORA — For the third successive day, the Northwestern Health Unit is reporting its highest-ever daily count of active COVID-19 cases.
The new record was established Wednesday when the number of active cases in the NWHU catchment area reached 438.
The health unit reported 49 new cases, including 30 in the Kenora health hub and 13 in the Fort Frances health hub.
Four people are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.
The Kenora health hub now has 185 active cases, followed by the Sioux Lookout health hub with 165.
There are 26 cases each in the Fort Frances and Dryden areas, 22 in the Red Lake health hub, six in Emo, five in Atikokan and three in Rainy River.
