Northwestern Health Unit reports 11 new COVID-19 cases

The case count increased by eight from Monday.

KENORA, Ont. — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the service area of the Northwestern Health Unit stood at 25 on Tuesday, an increase of eight from Monday.

The NWHU reported 11 new positive test results.

These included five in the District of Rainy River, four in the Kenora region and two in the Dryden/Red Lake region.

The Rainy River district currently has 11 active cases, while the Kenora area has seven, Sioux Lookout five and Dryden/Red Lake three. 

One person in the NWHU catchment area is currently in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.

In the Thunder Bay District Health Unit's jurisdiction, there were 64 active cases as of Tuesday morning, seven fewer than on Monday.
