The Northern Ontario School of Medicine has ratified the collective agreement it reached with Ontario Public Service Employee Union staff.
The deal, which netted union workers an additional one-time payment of $500 more than a similar offer made a month ago, effectively ends a strike by Northern Ontario School of Medicine staff that began in August, just before school was set to open.
The deal provides wage increase of 3.25 per cent in year one of the deal, with no increases in the second and third year.
Workers will also get a one-time lump-sum payment of $2,000, retroactive to 2009.
School officials say they are still working on a mutually agreeable date for union members to return to work.
