The Northern Ontario School of Medicine strike will continue.

OPSEU picketers have shot down the tentative agreement reached between the two sides last week.

On strike since Aug.16, the majority of NOSM administrative, technical, and clerical staff voted 76.8 per cent to reject the tentative agreement put forth by NOSM. The tentative agreement was reached last weekend, but OPSEU wanted to give NOSM staff enough time to review the agreement and make a decision.

OPSEU Local 677 President Yuk-Sem Won said after going over the tentative deal, the union members voted based on what they believed would give them their ideal conditions for returning to work.

Officials at NOSM say they're disappointed with the rejection of the agreement. The union members will return to the picket lines at both Lakehead University and Laurentian University Wednesday. No further dates for negotiation have been scheduled.
