The Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the union representing much of the school’s staff have ratified their third collective agreement.
Officials with NOSM and Unit 1 of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Local 677 announced the ratification Wednesday in a joint news release issued to media.
The collective agreement covers full-time faculty, professional librarians and professional staff at the medical school.
Union members voted in favour of the new collective agreement on Nov. 28, and the agreement was ratified by NOSM’s board of directors on Dec. 2.
The agreement runs from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2015 and provides for annual wage increases of 1.5 per cent in the first two years. That is followed by a two per cent annual wage increase in the final two years of the contract.
