Number of Covid-19 cases jumps by 40 in the Thunder Bay district

All the cases are in the City of Thunder Bay or surrounding townships.

THUNDER BAY — The COVID-19 caseload in the Thunder Bay district is once again approaching triple digits.

The district health unit announced 40 new cases on Monday morning, bringing the number of active cases to 93, the highest since Apr. 10, 2021.

All the new cases are in the City of Thunder Bay or surrounding townships.

Twenty-eight of them are the result of close contact with individuals already diagnosed with the virus.

TBDHU also reported that one district resident is receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.

Since Friday, 15 previously diagnosed cases were resolved.
