NWHU reports 13 new COVID-19 cases in Kenora

Health unit says there are 31 active cases in their region.

KENORA – The Northwestern Health Unit reports 13 new COVID-19 cases in the Kenora area.

The health unit did not provide details, other than to say follow-up with the persons involved and their contacts has commenced and anyone considered a close contact will be contacted directly.

It's a single-day record for Kenora, the previous high being nine in November, according to the Kenora Daily Miner and News

There have been 92 confirmed positive test results in the Kenora region since the pandemic began, 192 in the Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area.

Four more cases are considered probable, including three in Kenora, but were not confirmed by a COVID-19 test.

One-hundred-and-sixty four of the cases are considered to be resolved, with one death resulting from the virus.

There are 31 active cases, 19 in Kenora and 12 in the District of Rainy River.
