Thunder Bay, ON – If you are looking to part ways with your old computers, printers, television sets or other electronics, here’s your chance!
This Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., OLG Casino Thunder Bay will be collecting household e-waste in its parking lot at 50 Cumberland Street South. The team will also collect car and light truck tires, with or without rims. All proceeds from the collection will go to EcoSuperior Environmental Programs.
Items that will be accepted include:
• Printing, copying and multifunction devices
• Home theatre in a box (equalizers, amplifiers, speakers, tuners and turntables)
• Computers and computer peripherals
• Telephones and answering machines
• Monitors and televisions
• Aftermarket vehicle audio and video devices
• Image, audio and video devices
• Cameras and projectors
• Cellular devices and pagers*
• Tires (cars and light trucks) with or without rims.
* Only household e-waste and tires as specified above will be accepted. For a full list of accepted electronics, go to recycleyourelectronics.ca
The e-waste will be recycled under the Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) program. The OES pays per metric tonne of e-waste collected. Last year, OLG Casino Thunder Bay collected 4.41 metric tonnes of e-waste. Tires will be recycled through the Ontario Tire Stewardship Program.
