DRYDEN, Ont. -- One man is in custody after an incident on Monday in Dryden that left one person dead and four injured.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a suspicious person around 9:54 p.m. at Arbour Jade Trailer Park on McGogy Road.
Police say another call was received advising of an assault involving a weapon in the same area.
Dryden OPP and Dryden Police Service attended the trailer park and found two individuals with injuries. Both were transported to hospital.
Police located and arrested a male suspect at a McGogy Road address following a call placed by police.
A third victim was located on Tuesday within the trailer park with injuries and was transported to hospital shortly before 2 a.m.
Police say around 7:30 a.m. two more victims were located within a residence at the park. One was pronounced deceased, and the other was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Justin Desautels, 36, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, assaulting peace officer causing bodily harm, break, enter and commit robbery, attempt to disarm a police officer, attempt to commit murder and possession of a schedule I substance
The accused has been remanded into custody, pending a future court appearance on March 9, 2020.
