An electrical fault is being blamed for a fire that caused major damage to a North side home Monday.
The fire broke out at a Banning Street home around noon. Heavy smoke was billowing out of the windows when fire crews arrived. The blaze was quickly brought under control after crews broke windows and doors to attack the fire. Nobody was injured. Fire Marshal's investigator Rolf Waffler said after a thorough investigation, they've determined the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical problem.
Fire officials continue to look into a fire on Sunday afternoon at the former Thunder Bay Fine Papers facility. The blaze broke out in an electrical room and took several hours to bring under control. Damage is reportedly extensive but was limited to the electrical room area.
