THUNDER BAY - A new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the city brings the total number of people infected to 70.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit states a man in his 50s has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating.

The date of exposure is listed as April 24 and the source of exposure is pending.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay area to 70, with one death related to the disease. Fifty-one of the cases have been resolved.

The health unit is reminding anyone who may have symptoms of COVID-19 or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, to self-isolate and use the online self-assessment tool.
