One new COVID-19 case in the Thunder Bay district

The active case count continues to fall.

THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district has fallen to its lowest level since Feb. 13.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported only one new case on Tuesday.

With 15 previous cases having been resolved, the active case load has fallen to 149. The district's seven-day, per-100,000 case count dropped to 62.03, the lowest since it was at 58.02 on Feb. 11. 

On Feb. 13, there were 143 cases in the district.

There have now been 2,919 COVID-19 cases reported since the pandemic began, with 2,716 resolved and 54 deaths, including two in April. 

The one case is the fewest number of cases reported in a day, other than holidays, since Jan. 12. The last time there were no cases reported in a day was Nov. 5.
