THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district fell on Tuesday after the health unit reported only one new case over the previous 24 hours.
The patient is in a community outside the Thunder Bay area, and has no known source of exposure to the virus.
The TBDHU also reported six previously diagnosed cases had been resolved, and two cases previously reported have been removed from the district case count.
This brought the number of active cases in the district down to 60, seven fewer than on Monday.
The health unit said there are also two fewer patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 compared with Monday.
The TBDHU disclosed that three more Variants of Concern have been identified among recent cases in its service area, making for a total of 166 to date.
