THUNDER BAY — One resident of the Thunder Bay district has now been hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.
The public health authority made the announcement Monday as it announced a single new case had been confirmed over the preceding 48 hours.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit said the patient is a resident of the City of Thunder Bay or immediate surrounding townships.
How the individual acquired the virus is still under investigation.
There are now six active cases of COVID-19 in the district, one more than what was reported on Friday.
The last time the active caseload was reported in double digits was on June 25, 2021.
