A controversial decision to keep Wi-Fi away from Lakehead University four years ago may soon change.
University officials have created an online poll to let students have t heir say whether or not Wi-Fi should be allowed on campus.
Former LU president Fred Gilbert refused to allow Wi-Fi on campus, citing potential health concerns. New LU president Brian Stevenson took on his new role in August and Wi-Fi was one of the issues people have asked him to address.
Stephenson has aksed LU vice-president Michael Pawlowski to set up the poll so that students could have an opportunity to make the final decision.
The poll is available until Sept. 30.
Pawlowski said since Wednesday morning, more than 4,500 people have already participated.
If Wi-Fi is approved on campus, Pawlowski said it will likely be phased in, beginning with public areas of the school.
