SANDY LAKE FIRST NATION, Ont. — The Ontario Fire Marshal's office continues to probe the cause of a tragic house fire at Sandy Lake First Nation.

Three children – aged nine, six and four – died in the blaze that broke out late on the night of Jan. 13.

OFM staff have completed the on-scene portion of the investigation.

However, there's no word yet on what conclusions the three-member team may have reached.

In a statement to TBNewswatch, a spokesperson said Wednesday that "further analysis is currently underway and therefore the investigation remains ongoing."

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service is also investigating.

Sandy Lake is a fly-in community located 225 kilometres north of Red Lake.
