Thunder Bay, ON (August 4, 2016) – The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society and the Ontario SPCA are appealing to the public to come forward with any information about two cats found mutilated.
On July 22, 2016 the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society received a call in regards to mutilated cats in the area of McTavish in the East end of Thunder Bay, Ontario. One cat was dismembered and thrown on the back steps of a residence. A second cat was found dead with blunt force trauma to its head and stab wounds.
“The evidence found is very concerning and we are pleading to the public that if they have any information on these cats to come forward,” says Lynn Michaud, Senior Inspector, Ontario SPCA.
“These violent acts towards animals raises concerns for society at large given the supported research linking violence towards animals and violence towards humans.”
