OTTAWA -- Ontarians aged 60 and older will soon be eligible for fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccine, the province’s health minister has announced.
Minister of Health Christine Elliott confirmed the plans in comments at Queen’s Park Tuesday, saying more details would be announced Wednesday.
The move comes after the National Advisory Committee on Immunization advised earlier this week that provinces and territories should develop plans to administer fourth doses, prioritizing those 80 and older and long-term care residents.
LTC residents and others in congregate living are already eligible for fourth doses in Ontario, along with those who are immunocompromised.
