Officials with Operation Red Nose say the number of safe rides provided over the holiday season nearly doubled from 2010.
The organization released its final statistics Tuesday for its 2011 season.

Sponsorships and donations also doubled to more than $22,000. The local Canadian Tire also presented a cheque to Operation Red Nose Tuesday for an additional $737.
Organizers added that the campaign has been a huge success locally with one-sixth of all money raised in the province coming from Thunder Bay.
St. John Ambulance Executive Director Diana Sustawenko said there won't be many changes to the service for 2012.
The OPP were also on hand to congratulate Operation Red Nose for a job well done.
Nearly 200 people donated their time to help get people and their cars home safe.
