OPP arrest break and enter suspects

EAR FALLS – A pair is facing charges following a break and enter in Ear Falls early this week.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, police attended Coulson’s Corner Gas station on Oct. 5 at which point it was determined that 100 packages of cigarettes were stolen.

Police said during the initial investigation a suspect was identified after viewing some security footage.

On Wednesday, Red Lake and Ear Falls officers along with the Community Street Crime Unit and Northwest Region Crime unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Aspen Street.

Police recovered 60 packages of stolen cigarettes.

As a result of the investigation, Raymond Kay, 38 of Ear Falls was arrested and charged with break and enter and theft under $5,000.

Police also arrested and charged Melanie Cameron, 41, of Ear Falls with obstruct peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the North West Region Crime Unit
