A 36-year-old Terrace Bay man was arrested in the town shortly after midnight Monday after being sought by police throughout the day.

Officers from the Schreiber detachment of the OPP, as well as their North West Emergency Response Team and North West Canine Unit, participated in the search.

Officers originally responded to calls of a dispute at a Terrace Bay residence in which the man was said to be involved in the morning, before he allegedly targeted the police vehicle and fled the scene.

The man is facing charges of assault and arson damage. He remains in custody and has a court date scheduled for Wednesday.
