OPP expands search for missing Pickle Lake woman

PICKLE LAKE -- The Ontario Provincial Police in Pickle Lake is calling for public assistance as it expands its search for a missing 26-year-old woman.

PICKLE LAKE -- The Ontario Provincial Police in Pickle Lake is calling for public assistance as it expands its search for a missing 26-year-old woman.

Charmelle Masakeyash is described as a 5'7", 130 lbs indigenous woman with brown eyes, a medium build and straight, shoulder-length, black hair.

Masakeyash was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 on Pickle Lake's Koval Street. She was reported missing on Nov. 8.      

 Officers from Pickle Lake OPP, the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team, and the OPP Provincial Liaison Team are conducting an investigation into her whereabouts. The search team has also expanded to include Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and OPP Aviation services, members of the 3rd Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, as well as civilian volunteers.

The OPP is encouraging anyone who has any information pertaining to Masakeyash's whereabouts to contact the Pickle Lake detatchment at  (807)928-2211. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
