OPP investigate a theft from a hotel

Police are searching for a suspect who stole $400 in cash from a hotel.

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – Sioux Lookout OPP are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a theft from a hotel on Highway 72.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, an unknown individual entered the lobby of the hotel on Thursday, July 16 around 4 p.m. and removed the cash register.

The individual proceeded to break into the cash register, removing about $400 in cash before discarding it in the bushes nearby the property.

The OPP is requesting anyone with information about this occurrence contact the Sioux Lookout Detachment at 807-737-2020 or 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
