OPP investigate fatal crash east of Marathon

BRYANT TOWNSHIP, Ont. – The lone occupant of a westbound pick-up truck was killed on Tuesday in a Highway 17 crash with an eastbound tractor trailer

Ontario Provincial Police say they received a call at about 1:10 p.m., reporting the incident, which occurred near Bryant Township, Ont., about 60 kilometres east of Marathon, Ont.

The highway was closed for approximately nine hours as a result.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. They have not released the victim’s name or gender.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
