THUNDER BAY - Police are investigating after human remains were discovered north of Thunder Bay.
According to a media release issued by the Ontario Provincial Police, on Wednesday at approximately 3 p.m. officers with the Thunder Bay detachment responded to reports of human remains found near Wasp Road north of Highway 11/17 and west of Highway 527.
A forest area worker located the remains and reported it to police.
Police are holding the scene and the Northwest Region Crime Unit, the Forensic Identification Unit, and a forensic anthropologist from Toronto are assisting in the investigation.
