OPP investigating suspicious death

Police in Lac Seul First Nation say a body was found in Lac Seul First Nation early on Thursday morning.

LAC SEUL FIRST NATION – Police in Lac Seul First Nation are investigating a suspicious death.

Ontario Provincial Police said police called to the are of Mahkwa Road on Thursday, just after 12:05 a.m., where one person was located deceased.

The OPP’s Sioux Lookout crime unit is continuing to investigate, along with the help of Lac Seul First Nation Police Service, under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch and the office of the chief coroner of Ontario.

A post-mortem examination will take place in Toronto.

Residents of the community should expect to see an increased police presence while the investigation continues.
