NIPIGON, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police are looking to reunite two mountain bikes lost on the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Nipigon with their owners.
Police say the bicycles fell from a moving vehicle along with their hitch-mounted carrier about 20 kilometres west of Nipigon around 4 p.m. on Thursday.
The driver, travelling eastbound, did not initially notice, but was advised by a following driver that the bikes had falled and someone had retrieved them. No sign of the bikes was found after doubling back to check the area.
The bicycles are described as a black and silver Norco Buzz downhill bike and a women's blue 21 speed mountain bike.
Nipigon OPP are asking anyone who located the bikes, or knows their whereabouts, to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 so they can be returned to the owner. Information can also be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
