OPP make arrest following Greenstone break ins

OPP News Release (GREENSTONE, ON) – On April 29, 2015 at 10:45am the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a Break & Enter to a local residence in Longlac.

(GREENSTONE, ON) – On April 29, 2015 at 10:45am the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a Break & Enter to a local residence in Longlac.

The police investigation revealed that a male had entered a residence in the early hours of the morning, had broken into a trailer and had also been spotted prowling near several other residences in the area at night. Greenstone OPP Detachment, with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section (FIS), arrested and charged Jimmy WESLEY a 24 year old male of Kashechewan, Ontario. The accused was charged with:

Three counts of Trespass by Night contrary to section 177 of the Criminal Code

One count of Break & Enter a Dwelling and Commit an Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
One count of Mischief Under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code

One count of Fail to Comply with Officer in Charge Undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code

The accused was arrested and held at the Greenstone OPP Detachment for a Video Remand Hearing on the morning of May 1, 2015.
