OPP makes band office drug bust

Police arrested a Weagamow Lake First Nation man for drug trafficking following a recent investigation.

North Caribou Band councillors called police to the community’s band office Jan. 7. OPP officers attending the band office found a quantity of Oxycodone pills and more than a pound of marijuana.

Police also found an unspecified quantity of another narcotic, however police did not release what they believe that substance might be.

Following the discovery of the drugs, police officers arrested a 19-year-old Weagamow Lake First Nations man.

The man is now in custody and is expected to appear in a Sioux Lookout courtroom Friday.
