OPP charge driver with impaired on Hwy 61

An Alberta woman was charged with impaired driving on Wednesday night.

THUNDER BAY — OPP responded to a call for service on Highway 61 on Wednesday evening. 

Just before 10 p.m., police located the vehicle that was involved in a collision and determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. 

A 43-year-old woman from Edmonton, Alberta, was charged with multiple offences and was released from custody with a future court date. 

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario's roadways. Members of the public are urged to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.
