OPP recover bodies of boaters missing on Lake of the Woods

Ontario Provincial Police have recovered the bodies of three boaters on Lake of the Woods.

KENORA, Ont. -- The bodies of three boaters missing on Lake of the Woods have been recovered.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report on Monday of three males missing on Lake of the Woods, near Manitou Island.

Police learned that the vessel capsized and the males had not resurfaced. Two males were located on Tuesday and the third male was located on Thursday.

The men were located with assistance from members of Kenora OPP, Rainy River OPP, Marine and Trails Unit, Emergency Response Team and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

The deceased males have been identified as John Copenance, 50, Bluebird Major, 19, and Marshall Morrison, 42, all of Big Grassy First Nation.
