OPP recover stolen vehicle

One individual was arrested after stealing fuel from a business on in Upsala.

THUNDER BAY – Ontario Provincial Police have recovered a stolen vehicle from Swift Current.

According to a release, police responded to a report of a theft of gas Tuesday around 7:50 a.m. from a business in Upsala.

The officer located the vehicle on Highway 17, west of Ivar Road, and conducted a traffic stop.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Police arrested and charged Stanley Ameralik, 37, of no fixed address with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with recognizance.

The accused was held for a video court appearance and remanded into custody.
