OPP searching for missing fishermen

Ontario Provincial Police are trying to locate two missing fishermen who were last seen on Tuesday.

KENORA, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police are searching for two missing fishermen from a resort on the south end of Lake of the Woods.

On Wednesday, police in Kenora and Fort Frances were dispatched to a report of two missing fishermen from a resort on Lake of the Woods.

Police say the boat was last seen near Fadden’s Island on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Ontario Provincial Police marine and trails unit responded on the water, but have been unable to locate the missing men.

The emergency response team is on scene to assist in the search. A helicopter has been requested.

Police are searching for a silver 16-foot Alumamarine boat with a 25 horsepower Yamaha motor.

The first male is said to be 43-years-old, standing six-feet-three-inches tall and weighing about 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing camo overalls, a blue rain jacket, a red hoodie and brown boots.

The second male is said to be 75-year-old. He is wearing a camo snow suit with green boots and an orange hat.
