OPP seeking witness in Wednesday's fatal highway crash

THUNDER BAY -- Ontario Provincial Police in Thunder Bay are turning to the public, seeking witnesses to Wednesday’s fatal collision on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Gary Maki, 50, was pronounced dead in hospital shortly after the grisly early morning three-car collision, after the driver of a north-bound SUV allegedly crossed the centre line and collided with his south-bound pick-up truck.

The victim was ejected from his vehicle.

The male driver of the SUV suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries, while the female driver of a third vehicle involved in the collision suffered minor injuries.

Police are asking anyone who might have witnesses the collision to come forward.

They’re also seeking information about the blue 2010 Mitsubishi Endeavaour believed to have crossed the centre line and struck Maki’s truck.
