THUNDER BAY -- A two-vehicle crash, which involved a provincial police vehicle, will be the subject of a Special Investigations Unit probe.
Provincial police said it has requested the SIU to invoke its mandate to investigate the collision, which happened on Golf Links Road near the entrance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday morning.
In a news release issued earlier in the day, the Thunder Bay Police Service said the crash resulted in injuries, though they did not provide further details about the number of people who required medical attention or the severity of injuries.
City police are also investigating the crash.
Golf Links Road near the entrance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is now open to traffic.
