The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra has welcomed a new music director into their family.
Arthur Post was announced as the new music director at the celebration of the start of the orchestra's 50th season.
He was chosen from a list of 72 applicants, which was then narrowed down to eight. Those short-listed candidates were invited to guest-conduct shows last year, and were also interviewed and evaluated based on conducting style.
Post is out of the country and was not available for the TBSO’s Thursday afternoon news conference. President of the Symphony's Board of Directors, Paul Inksetter, says Post is a perfect fit for the orchestra and the community.
Post will make his official public introduction with the symphony at the opening Masterworks concert on October. 14.
