THUNDER BAY — Over 1,000 customers of Synergy North in Thunder Bay were affected by a power outage around mid-afternoon Tuesday.

The utility's outage map showed 1,041 customers were affected in the extreme south end of the city, in an area bordering Highway 61.

The power failure extended from the 15th Side Road to the city limits.

The cause of the outage was listed as unknown.

As of 4:45 pm, Synergy North had not posted a restoration time.
