THUNDER BAY – Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a blaze overnight in the 300 block of Adams Street.
Approximately 25 firefighters responded to the blaze with eight trucks at around midnight.
Acting platoon chief Bruce Turk said the fire started outside of the home, which is part of a duplex. Residents were able to safely escape, but the home was badly damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Turk said at this point there’s no indication that it is suspicious.
He said firefighters knocked the blaze down “quickly for what was in front of them. Then they had to make sure all the burning material was out.”
Firefighters left Adams Street at around 5 a.m.
