OTTAWA — The manufacturer of Eat Smart chopped salad kits has expanded an ongoing recall of some of its products sold in Thunder Bay, other parts of Ontario, and some other provinces.
Curation Foods first announced the recall in late August.
It's because of possible contamination with Listeria bacteria.
The recall involves a number of varieties and sizes ranging from 283g to 680g, with a best before date of Sept. 10, 2021.
Food contaminated by Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
Symptoms may include nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches or neck stiffness. In some cases, death may result.
A complete list of the recalled salads is available on the website of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Recalled food should be discarded or returned to the store where it was purchased.
