Pair arrested following Kenora drug bust

KENORA, Ont. – Two people are facing charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Kenora.

According to a release issued Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police located about seven grams of Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be about $3,000.

As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old has been charged with trafficking schedule 1 substance-opioid, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- Methamphetamine, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and obstructing peace officer.

Police also charged a 29-year-old with possession of a schedule I substance-opioid, failure to comply with an undertaking and obstructing peace officer.

The accused appeared in Kenora Court on Thursday.
