KENORA, Ont. – A 24-year-old man and a 21 year-old-old woman are in custody Tuesday after police wrap up an investigation in Kenora.
Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit have charged two accused following an ongoing investigation conducted by Kenora OPP.
Police seized 22 grams of cocaine, Canadian currency and other drug paraphernalia items used in the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs seized is about $2,200.
There were also two firearms and other weapons seized in the investigation.
A 24-year-old of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Adult carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine,
- Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
A 21-year-old of Kenora has been charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
- Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
Both accused appeared in bail court on Thursday to answer to the charges.
