Pair face several charges in Kenora after drugs, stolen property found

On November 18, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint regarding property damage and items stolen from a business in Keewatin.

Police located the suspects traveling eastbound on Highway 17A in Kirkup Township. Upon further investigation, it was determined the male driver and passenger had a large amount of stolen property in the vehicle. The items stolen were electronics, personal and household items that originated from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Police also located an amount of Methamphetamine inside the vehicle with an estimated street value of $800.

As a result of this investigation, Cole MOWATT age 32, from Saskatoon Saskatchewan and Derek WALLACE age 32, from Calgary Alberta have been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:

- Possession of Property Obtained  by Crime under $5,000 x 2

-  Mischief under $5,000

-  Possession of Break in Instruments

The two males have also been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They are to appear in court on November 23, 2015 to answer to the charges.
