THUNDER BAY – Two people have been taken to hospital after being stabbed outside the Shelter House.

Emergency responders were called to the south downtown core area around 10 p.m. Tuesday night after receiving reports of an altercation.

A Thunder Bay Police Service official confirmed a male and female were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple police vehicles, including the crime scene unit, were present outside the George Street homeless shelter.

The front entrance of the building and surrounding sidewalk was blocked off with crime scene tape, though the facility was said to not have been evacuated and there was still access at the rear of the building.
