The donations have all been tallied up, and last month's Parade of Lights has exceeded all expectations.

All told the Thunder Bay Police Association helped raise over $24,000 from the community this year.

The 17th annual Parade of Lights featured over 75 trucks rolling though the Intercity area, with volunteers lining the route to accept charitable donations.

While organizers say the mild weather last month helped bring people out, it was Thunder Bay's giving spirit that helped them reach the 24-thousand dollar mark.

The funds will be split among four local charities -- the George Jeffery Children's Centre, Special Olympics, Autism Ontario, and the Thunder Bay Theraputic Riding Association.
