It's time to map out your best vantage point, as the 17th annual Parade of Lights will be back on full display in just a few weeks.
At a news conference this morning, Parade Chair Const. Greg Stephenson announced this year's event will take place Dec. 5 starting at 7 p.m.
The route will remain the same as last year, beginning at Main Street and travelling on Memorial Avenue and back down Fort William Road.
The parade is a fundraiser, with money being collected along the route for four local charities: Autism Ontario, the George Jeffery Children’s Centre, Special Olympics Ontario and the Therapeutic Riding Association.
Stephenson says last year they raised over 20-thousand dollars and although there is no specific goal, they hope to top it this year.
The new Parade Marshall this year is Lucius Larrett, who was on hand at the news conference practicing his wave.
And he even got his first taste at driving in the cab of a transport truck, before the big night.
