One of Thunder Bay's best-known shopping malls is about to get a new owner, and a major facelift.
County Fair Plaza is being purchased by Toronto-based Parallax Investments.
Parallax vice-president Stafford Lawson confirmed the news during an interview with Thunder Bay Television Friday afternoon, and says the sale should go through very soon.
He said the shopping centre is going to see a major overhaul.
But Lawson said the current tenants will not have to move, as the work will be a retrofit of the building, and not a full demolition and rebuild.
County Fair Plaza has lost many of its tenants over the past few years, including a pair of grocery stores.
The Zellers portion of the mall, meanwhile, has been purchased by Walmart and is expected to be converted later this year.
