THUNDER BAY -- The parking lot and roadway at Hillcrest Park will be closed to vehicles for up to five weeks, starting on Monday.

City officials, in a release issued on Thursday, said the closure will allow for reconstruction of the parking lot and Colonel Keefe Drive. New curbing, sidewalks, granular materials and asphalt paving throughout the affected areas will be installed.

Park users are being asked to use caution when near the construction area.

The park itself will remain open to the public.
